Whatever your goal may be, write it down and place the reminder somewhere you will see it often, such as sticky note on your bathroom mirror. This simple reminder will help keep your goal top of mind as you go about your day.

2) Start with something achievable.

If your ultimate goal is to drop 30 pounds, don’t let yourself feel overwhelmed. A goal like this simply cannot happen overnight. Start by setting a measurable, achievable goal that will help you work towards your ultimate goal. For example, if you wish to lose 30 pounds, start making it a priority to get to the gym 3 times a week. Once you have established a routine on the schedule, work in another achievable task – like adding one more day to your gym rotation or eliminating sugary drinks. The small steps will help propel you further on your health journey!

3) Find a support system.

Make your new year goal setting more fun with the help of family, friends and co-workers. Recruit the help and support of people in your life to help keep you on track. People are often honored to be part of the self-improvement process. Who knows, you may even impact others to improve their own health this year too!
