What inspires you to do your job?
Being a physician is my calling. I am blessed to have been brought up in a family of physicians. When I was a kid, I enjoyed following my father’s clinic. After seeing so many patients suffering from illnesses, I wanted to help them feel better and reduce their suffering, so that they could lead happy and healthy lives. I am inspired when I can make the correct diagnosis to the most complex diseases and can solve my patients’ complex medical problems. My patients’ heartfelt gratitude towards me and their happy faces and satisfaction are the inspiration that keeps me going.
I enjoy taking care of adult patients with complex medical conditions, chronic medical diseases, hypertension, heart disease and chronic kidney disease. I also take interest in patients with uncontrolled diabetes, thyroid disease, adrenal and pituitary disease for which I did one year of fellowship training in endocrinology. I truly enjoy building long-standing, solid, trusting relationships with my patients. I chose to be a general internist so that I could care for my patients in a comprehensive manner. I also emphasize preventive medicine and provide extra effort and time with patients on health education, so that they understand how to adopt a healthy lifestyle.
I enjoy chatting and hanging out with good friends, listening to country rock and pop music, traveling and learning new things. I am an avid reader. I also am interested in various religions. Meditation is a daily norm that gives me peace, tranquility, and energy.
